Pride Photo Award

This week I was selected as a finalist in the international Pride Photo Award. The awards have been officially announced this evening and I am honoured to report my series ‘Transitory’ has been awarded third prize in the 2014 theme category ‘Getting Closer’. http://www.pridephotoaward.org/winners-2014 Pride Photo Award is a photographic contest based on sexual and gender diversity. Photographic Influences: Christer Strömholm

Series: Les Amies De Place Blanche documenting ‘ladies of the night’ transsexuals in Paris in the 1960’s. Photographer: Christer Strömholm 1918-2002 He befriended and photographed transsexual prostitutes of the neighbourhood’s red-light district struggling to live as women and to raise money for gender reassignment surgeries.
